Known for its remarkable concentration of elephants and as one of East Africa’s top birding destinations, Tarangire is must-see. The park spans 2,850 km² and takes its name from the Tarangire River that flows through it.
Climate
The park experiences bimodal rainfall, with short rains from November to December, long rains from March to May, and a dry season from June to October, and January to February. It lies at an altitude of 900 to 1,250 meters, receiving 650 to 700 mm of rainfall annually.
